About Me: The Founder of De Los Santos Production

I started this blog after my basic production professor, Meg Knowels, told me that it would be a good idea to develop a blog, to use as a social media supplement to my resume. I agreed. I decided that a blog would be an ideal instrument for tracking, showcasing, and reflecting upon my growth in media production work. This is my media production journal. Here's my work thus far.

THE MEANING OF DE LOS SANTOS

DE LOS SANTOS PRODUCTIONS is named after my mother, Nilda de los Santos. The last name de los Santos means of the saints. I thought it would be a great name for my blog.

THE BEGINNINGS OF CREATIVITY:

After I declared media production my major at Buffalo State College, I found it difficult to settle on a specialty in the field. EVERYTHING INTERESTED ME!

On this blog, I post all my work in radio broadcasting, television production, film documentary, and social media in the attempt to show the work I have done and eventually discover my career focus.

By the way, the female in the photograph is not me. I just liked the image of a strong media woman.

Children's Defense Fund Campaign

For my Post Production class I had to make a video using still images with a 30 second music piece. I decided to focus on the Children’s Defense Fund/Cradle to Prison Pipeline Campaign. I worked with them as a junior intern in their Freedom Schools program. The Children’s Defense Fund advocates for the education of all children in America.  This is a cause dear to my heart, therefore, I have written several commercials for this organization.

Black Orpheus: Title Sequence

For my Post Production class we had to recreate a movie title sequence. I chose the movie, Black Orpheus, and used and recreated one of my favorite scenes in the film. The music is great and the scene is symbolic of a new beginning in the city of Rio de Janeiro.  I used photographs that gradually lead to the actual clip from the film. I hope you enjoy watching this video!

I re-created an ipod commercial and added little effects. I took clips from some of my favorite dance scenes on film and included them in this video. I also changed the background of the commercial from black to some funky color. I had a fun time making this video. Enjoy it. I had a lot of fun putting in dance scenes from my favorite movies.
